This was a booklet project that I completed in my Publication Design class at York College. This project is called the Wiki Reader and the concept behind this was to create a publication using assets from wikipedia. Each person was given a single word to start off their publication and from there, we had to use the blue hyperlinked words to create a link between the first and last topic word of the publication. I started off with “Ancient Rome” and eventually connected it to “Molecules” through hyperlinked words on wikipedia. The publication is named “WARFARE” because I found a common similarity between all of my topic words in that they have something to do with warfare or relate to warfare in some way. The text is information about each topic word from wikipedia’s web page. All of the images in the publication are public domain and relate to each of the topic words. The booklet was designed in Adobe InDesign and the images were edited in Adobe Photoshop. The original size of the booklet is 8.5 x 11’’.
